As per the information available, the District Departmental Committee has also approved to provide funds worth PKR 520.4 million for these projects. The mentioned amount includes the funds especially reserved to improve infrastructure in the newly added UCs. AS these UCs were not overseen by an organised body, they had been facing many civic issues, like dilapidated roads, broken streetlights and absence of basic civic amenities, among other things.

Sources with the departments concerned have revealed that uplift work in the new UCs will start once the MCR gets the funds transferred from the local body. In the meanwhile, related development projects in the existing 46 UCs of Rawalpindi will commence soon.
