Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi District Administration has announced that all the issues delaying all seven mega infrastructure projects in the district will be resolved soon and the development work will be launched on them before the year-end (December 31), according to news published on September 27.

The official statement also revealed that the projects which are currently underway will also be expedited and delivered as per the stipulated timeline. These projects include; the Dadocha Dam, Chahan Dam Water Supply Scheme, Leh Expressway, Ring Road, Khanpur Dam Water Supply Scheme and 123-kilometre-long Tourism Highway that seeks to connect four mountain terrains of the district.

It was highlighted that the aforementioned projects have been stalled for over a decade, which has caused the development cost estimates to spike by 100-200%. Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi stated that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Parvaiz Elahi has been appraised of the situation and meetings are being held with related civic departments to launch the projects at the earliest.
