Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced its decision to expedite the infrastructure development work currently underway in the LDA City Phase-I project in order to complete the transfer of plot possessions to the scheme’s file holders, according to news sources.
Newly-appointed LDA Director General (DG) Sumair Ahmad Syed expressed his views on the matter during a visit to the project site on Monday. Accompanied by other department officials, the LDA DG inspected the development works being executed on 5,000 kanals of land situated in LDA City’s Jinnah Sector.
He was briefed about the project development by LDA Chief Engineer Habib-ul-Haq Randhawa and Project Director Hammad-ul-Hassan. The DG LDA was informed that a new 2-kilormeter-long road would be developed to connect the Phase-I and the LDA City Link Road (already developed from Ferozpur Road to Defence Road).

The officials concerned revealed that the civic agency had initiated the tendering procedure. They further stated that LDA had allocated a sum of PKR 3 billion in its FY2019-20 budget for carrying out the development work in LDA City Phase-I.
The said that file holders would be required to deposit half of the development charges; adding that the rates/schedule of the development charges would be announced soon.

The Phase –I of the LDA City is divided into seven packages and currently, development work is underway in Packages 1, 3 and 4; with a three-month deadline set for their completion.
