Islamabad: For filing of income tax returns, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has made it compulsory to collect information related to foreign and domestic earnings, agricultural earnings, travel expenses, overseas properties, as well as details related to commercial and residential properties, according to a news report. The FBR has released new notifications to this effect.
The filers would have to submit all of these documents, along with tax return-filing forms within a seven-day period. In these new income tax return forms, the government officers would also have to give details regarding their travel expenses, given to them by the government. These allowances include submarine allowances, and foreign earnings.
The FBR has introduced different forms for different categories of people, along with Cancellation Statements including expenditures for water, electricity, gas and various other utilities. Details of profit/loss incurred for buying/selling property, property tax, insurance premium, agricultural earnings and income tax paid on it, zakat deduction, workers’ welfare fund and money given for charity will also have to be given.
