Islamabad: Adviser to the Prime Minister (PM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam on Thursday urged industrialists to develop green areas in their industries, a news source reported.

He was addressing participants at a tree plantation ceremony, which was jointly organised by Islamabad Industrial Association (IIA) and Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (PAK-EPA) in Islamabad.
Secretary Ministry of Climate Change Hassan Nisar Jami, Mayor Islamabad Sheikh Anser Aziz, and Director General Pakistan Environment Protection Agency Dr Fazana Altaf, were all present at the occasion.
Aslam said that the federal government’s ‘10 Billion Tree Tsunami’ programme is aimed at increasing the country’s forest cover and making the environment clean.

In his address, Mayor Islamabad Sheikh Anser Aziz said that the capital’s administration plans to plant three million trees this year. He added that this project will be completed on a public-private partnership basis.
