Gujranwala: City authorities have announced a collaboration with local businesses to establish an industrial zone in the district — a news source reported on October 9. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah.

The meeting was additionally attended by other high officials of the Gujranwala division, including deputy commissioners of Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad. The current and former presidents of the local chambers of commerce were also present on the occasion. The meeting was conducted through an online video feed.
Aside from the decision to establish an industrial zone, the meeting also decided to demand an expo centre for Gujranwala.

The meeting further discussed the different measures that could help provide a boost to the country’s export sector. Moreover, they urged Pakistan’s consular staff abroad to coordinate with the local exporters community so that they could meet the demand of the foreign markets more efficiently.
