LAHORE: Chairman Punjab Industrial Estates Development & Management Company (PIEDMC), Javed Iqbal, announced on Sunday that state-of-the-art industrial zones will be established in Sialkot and Rawalpindi under the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab. These zones aim to boost exports, attract investment, and accelerate industrial growth in the province.
In an exclusive interview with PTV News, Javed Iqbal revealed that the groundwork for the Sialkot Industrial Zone is complete, with the land identified and preparations underway for its formal inauguration by the Chief Minister. He highlighted that this initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce, will enhance industrial activity in the region.

He further stated that a proposal for an industrial zone in Rawalpindi is currently under review and is expected to be approved soon. Once operational, the Rawalpindi Industrial Zone will provide new opportunities for businesses, strengthen the local economy, and create employment.
PIEDMC is also engaging with representatives from Chinese industrial zones to attract foreign investment and technology transfer to Pakistan’s industrial sector. The Punjab government’s commitment to industrialization and economic development remains a key priority, with ongoing efforts to establish pharmaceutical and manufacturing hubs across the province.

With successful industrial estates like Sundar Industrial Estate and Quaid-e-Azam Business Park already driving economic growth, the addition of new zones in Sialkot and Rawalpindi is expected to further bolster Punjab’s position as a key industrial hub.
