Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a ‘reminder’ notification for salaried individuals to submit their income tax returns before the communicated deadline – set to expire on September 30, a news source reported on September 23.

The taxation agency stated that persons providing annual income receipts of PKR 600,000 and above were mandated to file their tax returns. Moreover, it said that it had introduced of number of measures to help the citizens ‘fulfil their national obligations with ease’. These facilities include:
- One Window Access: FBR’s website has reshaped its ‘online filing services’ with specific icons assigned to enable taxpayers to file their returns by using a single link.
- New Simplified Return: The tax return form for salaried taxpayers has been simplified.
- Wizard Based Interface: A new ‘Wizard Based Interface’ has been launched for the people to make tax return ‘user friendly and self-explanatory’. The interface also provides navigational help for convenient filing.

- Updated Tax Asaan app: Taking all the reported errors linked with the mobile app, the authority has updated the app to offer new simplified forms, user-friendly interface, tutorials, income tax registration, e-payment and my education features.
- Taxpayers’ Guidance: Taxpayers can watch video tutorials at FBR’s website or contact at 051-111-772-772 for further guidance regarding online filing of income tax returns.
