Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday (September 15) ordered the relevant authorities to provide incentives to tourism sector investors, according to media reports. He asked the provincial governments to rehabilitate old buildings of tourist resorts based on public-private partnership initiatives.

PM stated that the tourism-related problems must be resolved quickly while chairing a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) on tourism to promote the tourism industry. It was reported that PM has directed the departments concerned to quickly finalise suggestions to provide facilities like tax relief for parties interested in developing top-class hotels and tourist resorts.
Moreover, PM Khan mentioned that the historic places and rest houses in Jhelum and nearby areas must be renovated. The meeting was informed that the tourism sector in Punjab was promoted with the partnership of an international organisation. It was also reported that the rules and regulations formed in Punjab for tourism will be implemented soon.

Likewise, for the promotion of the tourism sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), a master plan was drafted for four unsegregated tourism zones. Moreover, Civil Aviation Authority has changed its rules to launch air safari services at tourist spots. During the meeting, PM Imran Khan was briefed about the development work on new tourist attractions at Attock Fort and Bala Hisar Fort. It was disclosed that the centralised tourism website was made operational in order to promote tourism in all provinces.
