Islamabad: The federal government plans to offer incentives to overseas Pakistanis in a bid to attract additional remittances to the country, a news source reported.

Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Mian Aslam Iqbal, to this effect, submitted a list of proposals to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan during a meeting held on Saturday.
The proposed incentives include the grant of a 25% concession on school fee for the children of overseas Pakistanis, a 50% tax rebate for overseas citizens who buy property in the country, health cards and vacation packages for their families, and VIP air tickets for citizens who send in hefty remittances.
Through these incentives, the government hopes to attract additional remittances worth USD 10 billion.

The PM has directed Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfikar Bukhari to implement these proposals on an immediate basis.
