Kohat: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has inaugurated various newly completed development projects and performed ground-breaking of uplift projects, worth PKR 13 billion, in Kohat and Hangu districts, according to news published on December 8.

CM Khan laid the foundation for a mega project for the improvement of the sewerage system and setting up of a new sewerage treatment plant at Kotal Township (KDA). The project will be implemented under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP), at the estimated cost of PKR 6.73 billion. It was mentioned that a 75-kilometre-long new sewage network will be established under the project. Once completed, the project will increase the water treatment capacity by 3.0 million gallons per day.
Moreover, the minister also laid the foundation stone for the improvement and rehabilitation of the Water Supply System in Kohat, at the estimated cost of PKR 4.65 billion. During the visit, the chief minister attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Business Development and Community Centre for Women in Kohat and the recreational park and other facilities in Sports Complex. It was mentioned that both projects will be completed under KPCIP.
Similarly, in Hangu, CM Khan inaugurated the Civil Hospital in Doaba, which had been completed at a cost of PKR 154.4 million. The minister inaugurated a newly established District Jail in Hangu and two Rescue 1122 stations in Thall.

Speaking at the ceremony, the CM mentioned that the government has adopted a comprehensive strategy for the development of the divisional headquarters under KPCIP. He went on to say that the incumbent government is focused on providing better civic facilities to the people at their doorsteps.
