Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi administration on Thursday (November 02) announced the tentative inauguration dates of four mega projects worth billions, news sources reported. The proposed projects include 123-kilometre-long Tourism Expressway, 20-kilometre-long Leh Expressway, 34-kilometre-long Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) and a wastewater treatment plant.

Reportedly, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Usman Buzdar will inaugurate the projects between November 25 to December 25. In this regard, the commissioner, deputy commissioner and Rawalpindi development Authority (RDA) administration has started preparation. As per the schedule, CM is expected to inaugurate PKR 4.5 billion Tourism Expressway between November 25 and 30. The project will start from Pindori Chowk Kalar Syedan and will connect hilly tehsils of Rawalpindi, including Kalar Syedan, Kahuta, Kotli Sattian, and Murree. The road extending from Lower Topa to Azad Kashmir will also be signal-free.
