Islamabad: The inauguration of Islamabad’s new international airport is expected to take place on November 22, reported a news source. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is expected to inaugurate it.
The deadline shared for completion of the six-lane wide road connecting Islamabad with the new airport is December 31, while the deadline given by the NHA to the contractors is November 22. The airport’s main approach road may open to traffic by November 22.
As soon as construction work on the airport’s main access road is complete, the prime minister will inaugurate the facility, allowing local and international flight operations to begin.
