Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the new e-stamping system in the province that was launched in collaboration with the Board of Revenue Sindh, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), and the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), according to a news story published on May 14.

To this effect, a launch ceremony was held at the Sindh CM House, which was attended by Revenue Minister Makhdoom Mehboob, President of NBP, senior members board of revenue, the chief secretary, and others. Initially, the project has been launched in 11 districts of the province and will soon be introduced across Sindh. As per the details shared, there are 22 branches of NBP, out of which 12 are issuing e-stamp papers. It was disclosed that by July 2022, the e-stamping services will be available province-wide.
Moreover, CM Murad informed that the stamp duty has been decreased from 2% to 1%. He went on to say that the e-stamping challan can be acquired online or from NBP. This will help in expanding the tax net in the province.
How to use the e-stamping system?
To avail the e-stamping services, people must have an internet connection. For the purchase of high-value non-judicial or judicial stamp papers, an individual must provide data related to the area of purchase. The system will automatically calculate the value of the required stamp paper. The following information will be required:

- Name of the buyer and seller
- Name of the person from whom the stamp papers will be bought
- CNIC numbers
Once, this process is completed, the buyer will get the e-stamp paper within 15 minutes.
