Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced the inauguration date for the Rawal Dam Flyover and 7th Avenue Interchange, according to news published on August 11.

CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed held a meeting in which it was decided that the Rawal Dam Flyover and 7th Avenue Interchange will be inaugurated on Independence (August 14). It was informed that the flyover and roads of the Rawal Dam project will be completed within two days. The attendees were notified that the lighting and lane marking at the project is underway. An official (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned that the underpass will be completed in a month. He stated that the Rawal Dam Flyover will be inaugurated on substantial completion of the flyover.
Moreover, the CDA chairman visited the project sites and directed the officials to ensure the completion of the projects by August 14. As per the press release, the asphalt on the flyover is completed and uplift of the surrounding area is being done. In a few days, the lane marking will be carried out and the artwork will be completed. It was disclosed that the New Jersey barriers will be completed in the next three days. All the remaining work will be completed within 20 to 30 days. Sharing details on the 7th Avenue Interchange project, it was mentioned that work on the project is almost complete.

It is pertinent to note that the original deadline for the projects was October. However, on the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the projects are being completed ahead of their scheduled deadline.
