Islamabad:The federal government is set to inaugurate the Islamabad Information Technology Park on August 14, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital infrastructure and innovation ecosystem, an official from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication confirmed.
Spanning over 66,800 square meters, the purpose-built facility will provide modern infrastructure to support tech startups, freelancers, and export-oriented IT and IT-enabled service (ITeS) companies. The state-of-the-art complex features two basements, a ground floor, and nine upper floors, and is designed to accommodate up to 120 offices for IT and ITeS firms.

In addition to commercial office space, the IT Park will also host a startup incubation center with 15 dedicated offices for early-stage companies. A business support center will be established on-site to offer legal, marketing, and financial advisory services to resident firms, further easing the path to growth and scalability.
The Islamabad IT Park will also include an industry-academia linkage center aimed at strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and the tech industry. This initiative is expected to facilitate research, innovation, and workforce development tailored to the needs of Pakistan’s growing digital economy.
One of the facility’s standout features will be the launch of Pakistan’s first Tier III Data Center, offering high-level data security and uninterrupted power supply—an essential component for companies handling critical and sensitive digital operations.
“This will be one of the highest standard data centers in the country and a significant milestone for Pakistan’s IT infrastructure,” the ministry official noted.

The IT Park is part of a broader government strategy to bridge the infrastructure gap in the tech sector, foster technology transfer, and boost Pakistan’s IT exports. A similar facility is also planned near Karachi airport, as the government seeks to strengthen the national IT landscape across multiple regions. The new IT parks are expected to play a critical role in enhancing Pakistan’s global competitiveness in technology, while promoting innovation, research commercialization, and stronger linkages between academia and industry.
