Karachi: The Sindh and federal governments on Sunday (January 9) decided to develop better coordination to execute the conveyance system and augmentation of the K-IV project – also known as Greater Karachi Water Supply Scheme, according to news sources.

At the sixth meeting of the Coordination Committee held at the Chief Minister House, the federal and Sindh governments agreed that the mega project suffered because of serious problems and lack of coordination. To address the problems, both governments decided to improve their collaboration.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, IT and Telecom Minister Syed Aminul Haque, Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, Karachi Corps Commander Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed, Provincial Ministers Nasir Shah and Saeed Ghani, and senior provincial and federal officials.

Moreover, it was disclosed that a revised PC-I of the said project will be submitted to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). It was also mentioned that the K-IV project will be completed by the end of 2023.
