Rawalpindi: Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Tuesday directed the concerned authorities to prepare feasibility studies, on a priority basis, for small dam projects in Rawalpindi— a news source reported. As per the publication, the minister stated that the preparation of these feasibility studies would help expedite the initiation of developmental work required for these projects.

Minister Khan gave these orders during a meeting with members of the district committee and Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Saif Dogar. During the session, he was also provided with a detailed breakdown on development projects that are currently under construction. These include three under construction universities in Rawalpindi, various water supply schemes, and infrastructure development projects for roads and overhead bridges.

Addressing the meeting, the aviation minister stated that, since the underground water level was falling at an alarming rate, there was an urgent need for the development of water reservoirs. He went on to instruct the officials concerned to complete all the required development work on ongoing projects within the predetermined timeframes.
