Islamabad: The Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) has decided to impose charges on installing tube wells for commercial use in the capital city, a news source reported.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan expressed his views on the matter. He said that as many as 35 service stations will be charged for utilising groundwater for commercial use in Islamabad.
He added that federal institutions including the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will assist the IMC with regard to formulating a comprehensive water policy.

The minister said that the federal government has directed the owners of service stations in Islamabad to install recycling plants in a bid to prevent water wastage.
