Imam-e-Kaa’ba Mr Sheikh Khalid Al Ghamidi is set to visit Pakistan for 4 days starting April 23, 2015. The trip has been arranged on a special request from the Government of Pakistan. Mr Ghamidi will meet the senior leadership of Pakistan including Prime Minister Mr Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Mr Shahbaz Sharif.
Important matters, particularly regarding the Yemen issue, will be discussed in these meetings. Meanwhile, Mr Malik Riaz of Bahria Town has availed this opportunity to request the Imam-e-Kaa’ba to lead Friday prayers at the Grand Mosque of Bahria Town Lahore on April 24, 2015 at 1:30 pm, to which he has reportedly acquiesced.
The Grand Mosqueis located in Sector E of Bahria Town Lahore and it has the capacity to house a total of 70,000 people for congregational prayers, making it the 7th largest mosque in the world. Its inner courtyard has a capacity for 25,000 people, which makes the Grand Mosquethe largest in Pakistan. This mosque has attracted public attention several times in the past for inviting scores of people to offer Friday Prayers behind many well-known and greatly respected Islamic figures, including Maulana Tariq Jameel.
For tomorrow’s prayers, we are once again going to witness one of the largest Friday congregations held in the country. If you, too, wish to be one of the lucky people to offer prayers behind Imam-e-Kaa’ba Mr Sheikh Khalid Al Ghamidi, make sure to reach the mosque on time. The inner as well as outer courtyards are likely to be filled to capacity tomorrow, so you must also bring along your own prayer mat just in case you are unable to find space in the mosque area.
