Rawalpindi: The district administration launched an operation to vacate 28 kanals illegally occupied on Peshawar Road, from a transport company, according to a news report. The land was allocated for the Punjab Transport Authority and had been illegally occupied for the last 15 years. While talking to media, a senior official said that successive governments tried to get land back from the company, Varan Tours, operating here illegally, but failed. He also added that the government managed to vacate land on Peshawar Road, but not the bus depot on Adamjee Road.
During the vacation, the local police and Magistrate Azeem Shaukat Awaz accompanied the Regional Transport Authority Secretary Khalid Yameen Satti.
