Abbottabad: Commissioner Hazara Division Riaz Khan Mehsud on Thursday stated that Abbottabad’s grandeur will be restored after the illegal buildings are demolished in the Cantonment Board, according to media reports.

On the directives of the commissioner, an anti-encroachment campaign has started in Abbottabad. Under this anti-encroachment campaign, nearly 55 illegal structures, 360 walls, and 12 culverts were dismantled. The commissioner informed the media that all illegal buildings that obstructed the free flow of rainwater will be removed.
Moreover, after the heavy rainfall on July 11, the residential colonies near Nullah Jab were severely damaged. The commissioner informed the media that a comprehensive plan was devised after the devastation caused by the flood.

Similarly, Commissioner Riaz Khan also mentioned that over 6,000 kiosks have been removed from Kaghan Valley in order to promote tourism and economy in Hazara District.
