Peshawar: The provincial government evicted illegal occupants from 7,063 kanals of land worth PKR 14 billion in the past four months, according to a news report. This was revealed in the quarterly “Government Performance Report” prepared by the Performance Management and Reforms Unit (PMRU) at Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Secretary’s office.
According to the report, this was done during anti-encroachment drives across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Encroachment on 217,000 kanals of land were also removed as a part of the drive. The report also pointed out that more than 7,000 water tanks were cleaned and chlorinated, and 708 illegal billboards were removed.
Deputy Commissioners conducted 274 open courts across the province. Out of the 2,559 complaints filed in these courts, 1,399 were resolved, and the remaining 772 were forwarded to the relevant departments.
On the other hand, 16,000 complaints were filed on the Chief Secretary’s citizens’ portal. Out of these, 12,000 complaints were resolved, and the remainder were sent to the relevant departments.
