Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken notice of illegal construction activities in Murree and instructed the Human Rights Cell Director General to get details from all the concerned departments, according to a news source.
A three-judge bench, which was headed by the Supreme Court Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, was hearing a case against the disqualification of ex-Town Municipal Officer Imran Niazi, during which it asked the concerned departments to submit complete records of all illegal construction activities carried out in Murree. He also instructed the Human Rights Cell Director General to share a report on the measures taken to curb illegal construction in Murree.
Giving remarks on the situation, Nisar said that illegal construction activities in the resort town cannot be ignored.
