Karachi: On 15th March 2018, the Supreme Court told Chief Secretary to take demolish a building in Lyari, according to a news report. There are portions of the building that are illegal and need to be vacated for which Justices Gulzar Ahmed and Sajjad Ali Shah have asked authorities to compensate the occupants.
The building has been declared illegal because it has multiple floors, whereas, only ground-plus-one are allowed by law. The court has directed the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to seal, vacate, and demolish this building.
