Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday (September 16) directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to submit a detailed report on the payments made to the affectees of its stalled sectors, a news source reported.
Justice Athar Minallah issued the orders while hearing the petitions filed by the said affectees; warning that not even a single plot would be allotted till the compensation amounts to all these individuals were paid.

Representing the development authority, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan said that the affectees had been made part of every meeting held to discuss the issue of compensation. He mentioned that efforts were being made to resolve the cases of 1,300 affectees; adding that the ballot to conduct plot allotments would be organised through the assistance of the National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA).
Chief Justice remarked that incidents of land grabbing had recently been on the rise; with affectees left ‘waiting to get what they rightfully deserve’.
