Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained a private housing society from using amenity plots for commercial or residential use, according to a news report. The IHC was hearing a cased filed by residents of the society whose golf club’s membership was cancelled due to their protests against the society’s decision to convert club’s land into commercial and residential plots.
Hearing the case, IHC Justice Aamer Farooq issued a notice to Capital Development Authority and CEO of the society to seek their responses.
The society has reportedly planned two nine-hole golf courses on an area of 571.1 kanals, where a golf course measuring 350.37 kanals has been developed.
