Lahore: Arif Nawaz Khan, Inspector General of Police, has finalised the security plans for Chand Raat and Eid, according to a news source. He made the announcement in this regard at a regional police officers’ conference held in Lahore.

This conference was attended by senior police officers. In this meeting, a security plan was also issued for citizens who would be visiting parks and public attractions, along with sensitive installations.
A force of 51,063 police personnel is being deployed all over the province. 22,737 mosques/imambargahs and 866 Edi gatherings in open places are being protected. 38,465 officers, 3,970 officials of the special police force, and 8,628 volunteers will perform their duties at these places.

It was also revealed that 155 walkthrough gates, 10,953 metal detectors, and 10,849 CCTV cameras would be installed at sensitive locations for the protection of the general public. For Chand Raat, 20,588 officers would be deployed, and protection of citizens ensured in marketplaces and business centres, among other places.
