Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Sameer Ahmed Syed has instructed the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) to identify infrastructural development projects (which need to be developed on a priority basis) for inclusion in the civic agency’s budget announcement for 2021, a news source reported.

The LDA DG gave this directive after receiving a briefing on TEPA’s work operations, responsibilities, organisational hierarchy, and the projects completed by the agency so far. TEPA Chief Engineer Mahzar Hussain Abbas gave the briefing.

According to details, LDA DG Syed directed the TEPA to play an efficient role in managing traffic issues in Lahore. He also directed the officials concerned to find new ways to generate income for the department. The LDA DG shared his views on introducing a proper mechanism to help commuters avoid busy roads and routes during the rush hour.

Furthermore, DG Syed directed the TEPA officials to plan and develop road projects by keeping in view the future needs of the city’s commuters.
