Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration on Wednesday unsealed a residential scheme in the city after screening and clearing its residents for the coronavirus infection, according to news sources.

As per the notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the residents of Rimsha Colony in the Sector H-9 have been cleared of the coronavirus threat by the District Health Department after a detailed survey, ground surveillance, contact tracings, and testing. The area — which had been sealed among two other locales in the city on March 26 — has now been unsealed with immediate effect.

Under the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) Section 144 prevailing orders, the area will fall under surveillance with amendments from time to time, the notification added. The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Mohammad Hamza Shafqat said that a man and his teenage relative tested positive for coronavirus in the area, which had led to the authorities concerned to seal the area. Fortunately, the two residents have now managed to recover.
