Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Monday issued a local flood warning and banned recreational activities at all the nullahs and dams of the city, a news source reported.

To this effect, District Magistrate Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat issued three notifications barring boating, swimming and fishing in a number of dams as well as all the nullahs of the capital – including the Rawal Dam, Simly Dam, Swan Nullah, Korang Nullah among other nullahs. Moreover, the ban was placed with immediate effect for a period of two months.

According to details, the local administration made the decision in wake of the flood warning and flood-like situations in several nullahs of the city owing to heavy monsoon rains.
