Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Administration (ICT) recently collaborated with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to initiate an operation to remove encroachments from the Sabzi Mundi, a news source reported.

It was revealed that the two authorities removed hand carts from the Sabzi Mandi and proceeded to place them at 6 metre intervals. Additionally, all other encroachments from the footpaths are in the process of being removed.

Various authorities including the Market Committee of ICT, Enforcement Directorate, Islamabad Police, and Officers of ICT Administration participated in the crackdown. The operation was initiated on Wednesday morning, and is expected to continue for the coming two weeks to ensure the complete removal of encroachments in the area. Also, instructions have been issued to the aforementioned authorities to implement the initiative thoroughly.

Furthermore, authorities are utilising loudspeakers to spread awareness about social distancing among the people — wit the initiative aimed at controlling the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
