Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has ordered a ban on the intra- and inter-city movement of people by public transport commuting from within the capital city — with the initiative aimed at impeding the spread of the coronavirus infection, a news source reported.

The metro bus service will, however, remain functional. The timings will be between 8:30AM to 10:30AM and then, 3:30PM to 5:30PM. The Friday timing will, however, differ: from 8:30AM to 10:30AM and then, from 12:30PM to 2:30PM.
One seat will be kept empty between the passengers. The taxis and cabs will be allowed to function. District Magistrate ICT has also banned all gatherings including social and religious — at any location, whether public or private.

Additionally, the administration will keep soup kitchens and shelter homes functional. However, the outpatient departments of the hospitals will remain suspended even while the emergency services will remain functional. The order added that the e0ssential services of the Metropolitan Corporation will also remain functional.
All markets, shopping malls, restaurants and private offices will also remain closed. Public offices will function from 10AM to 4PM; except on Friday, when the timing have been stated to be 10AM to 1PM.
The order will remain function until April 7.
