Islamabad: Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan on Saturday urged the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to consult with the chamber members and other stakeholders prior to introducing revisions to building bylaws, according to a news report published on December 6.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with a delegation of the Traders Welfare Association in G-11 Markaz of the capital city. He stated that the amendments in bylaws will give a boost to the construction sector of the capital city, adding that existing regulations were not conducive to construction activity growth.

Khan went on to say that the CDA should amend its building bylaws to give a title to the buyers of apartments and flats constructed on the upper portions of commercial plots. He added that the civic agency was seen to issue titles to plot holders and that this practice continues to prevent apartment owners from availing home loan facilities from banks.
