Islamabad: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (ICCI) representatives met the Motor and Importer Dealers Association delegation and asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to establish an Auto City, as reported by a news article on November 30.

According to the details, ICCI’s President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari emphasised the significance of car showrooms in generating employment and fostering business activities. He went on to say that setting up Auto City will help alleviate parking issues in markets and promote the smooth functioning of the sector’s business activities. ICCI assured its cooperation with the Association in resolving the challenges faced by motor dealers.
The delegation, comprising notable figures like Rawalpindi Region President Raja Amir Karim, Islamabad Region President Sardar Irfan, Muhammad Waseem Abbasi, Islamabad Region General Secretary Azhar Akhlaq Abbasi, and other officials highlighted the challenges encountered by their sector.

Motor and Importer Dealers Association President Haji Tariq underscored the pivotal role played by motor dealers in business development and job creation. President Haji Tariq urged the CDA to heed the directives of the Islamabad High Court and analyse successful models from major global cities like London, Malaysia, and Singapore to find a sustainable solution for car showrooms.
