Karachi: The Sindh Government is planning to develop and beautify Karachi’s I.I Chundrigar Road , according to a news source. This beautification is specifically being planned for the stretch running from Shaheen Complex to Tower. The government plans to collaborate with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistan Railways (PR), Pakistan Banking Association (PBA), and major organisations located on the road, for seeing to this end.
This project was recently discussed in a meeting presided over by Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah. The other participants at the session included a delegation of bankers headed by SBP Managing Director (MD) Ashraf Khan.
The attendees discussed the salient features of the project, with the Sindh Government planning to collaborate with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Karachi Development Authority (KDA), and Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB), along with other relevant authorities to facilitate its execution.
The Chief Secretary remarked that a feasibility study needs to be carried out to determine the project’s operational expenses, and the funds contributed by the stakeholders. The members of the meeting resolved to offer their full cooperation in this matter.
