Karachi: The Hub Power Company (HUBCO) plans to install several water treatment and filtration plants near Karachi, a news source reported. These proposed facilities will desalinate seawater and recycle industrial wastewater.
A meeting to this effect took place between Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and a three-member HUBCO delegation led by its CEO Khalid Masnoor at the Governor’s House.

The delegation said they had discussed the possibility of installing a recycling plan with relevant industrial estates in Karachi. These industrial associations lauded HUBCO’s initiatives.
In response, Governor Ismail said that the federal government will provide all possible assistance to HUBCO in its endeavours. He stressed the need to resolve Karachi’s water crisis on a priority basis. Ismail also lauded Hubco for initiating development projects in Thar.
