Karachi: The Hub Power Company (HUBCO) has offered to set up a desalination plant for the Sindh Government, a news source reported. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting on the matter in Karachi.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that Karachi’s daily need for water is 1,100 Million Gallons per Day (MGD). He said that a 300 MGD power plant should be set up, and its capacity increased over time. HUBCO offered to set up a desalination plant as a result. HUBCO wants to set up the plant near Hub, where a water channel already exists to transport water to Karachi.
