Karachi: The water level of Hub Dam has witnessed a considerable increase due to heavy rains in Khuzdar and Lasbela districts of Balochistan, according to officials of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).

WAPDA recorded an increase of 17 feet in the water level of Hub Dam. The reservoir table reached 295 feet, with the agency anticipating further increases due to more spells.
This news is particularly welcoming for the residents of Karachi and Lasbela. The latest figures mean that Hub Dam now has the capacity to provide 166 million gallons of water per day (MGD) for up to a year.
Officials of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) informed that Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Barkhan, and Dureji areas of Balochistan received heavy showers on Wednesday.

Hub Dam is the main source of water for irrigation, industrial and domestic purposes in Lasbela district, especially Hub Tehsil. At its normal capacity, Hub Dam supplies 100 MGD to Karachi and around 66 MGD to Hub Tehsil.
