Islamabad: Pakistan is facing a housing shortfall of 12 million units and if not addressed, the shortfall can reach 20 million units by 2025, according to a news report. The Government of Pakistan is looking to shorten this gap by offering 5 million affordable housing units during the next five years.
The project to provide affordable housing to the people of Pakistan appears to be challenging. The government is looking to add one million houses per year for the next five years, for which a comprehensive plan is awaited. The addition of 5 million houses in the country also promises employment opportunities for the people of Pakistan.
