Rawalpindi: Commissioner Muhammad Mehmood has directed the developers of private housing schemes in all four districts of the city to install water treatment plants in their projects, a news source reported. The commissioner issued this instruction while presiding a meeting of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA)’s officials on Tuesday.

The commissioner further ordered that developers of private housing schemes to install a proper sewerage system in their respective projects. For facilitating these measures, he directed the RDA officials to finalise SOPs to ensure the implementation of the Commissioner Office’s directives.
Commissioner Mehmood further warned the officials that no negligence will be tolerated with developers using delaying tactics to install water treatment plants and lay proper and sustainable sewerage lines in accordance to the future needs of the societies’ residents.

A few days ago, the commissioner warned the owners of private housing schemes against carrying out development prior to procuring an NOC from the RDA. He also mentioned that the government is making complete efforts to promote activity in the construction industry to create jobs and facilitate investors.
