Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has asked private builders and developers to expedite work on the plantation drive in their housing schemes under the countrywide ‘Clean & Green’ campaign, a news source reported.

LDA Director General (DG) Amna Imran recently made the announcement during a meeting with owners of private housing schemes at the authority’s office in Lahore.
Additional DG Housing Zareef Iqbal, Chief Engineer Mazahar Hussain Khan, Chief Town Planner Syed Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, and Chief Metropolitan Planner Azhar Ali were also present at the occasion.
She said that Section 15 of LDA Private Housing Scheme Rules – 2014 makes it mandatory for private schemes to develop green belts and plant tress under a landscape plan.

Amna Imran informed the developers that they have to allocate seven percent of the land in their housing societies for parks and greenbelts. Moreover, she asked developers to implement measures under an approved plan.
