Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Housing Department on Tuesday announced an increase in the quota of widows and minorities, from 0.5% to 1%, in all future residential housing projects, according to media reports.

Housing Minister Dr Amjad Ali chaired the 26th meeting of the Housing Department to discuss the 13 agenda items. The minister also reviewed the progress of the decisions taken in the previous meeting. During this latest session, it was decided to allocate land to establish a paraplegic centre in Jalozai Housing Scheme and provide all facilities for physically challenged persons.
Moreover, the attendees also decided to conduct the next draw of the Pakistan Housing Authority through Punjab Information Technology Board. The meeting approved the issuance of allotment letters of the Jalozai Housing Scheme and the construction of the regional facilities centre.

In another development, it was revealed that CM Mahmood Khan has decided to launch two new low-cost housing projects in Mardan and Peshawar districts in the next two months. The CM ordered the relevant authorities to complete all the pre-requisites to inaugurate the schemes within the stipulated time.
