Islamabad: The Ministry of Housing on Tuesday shared a two-year performance report on low-income residential initiatives introduced within the country, a news source reported. The report indicated an allocation of PKR 5 billion as revolving funds for low-cost housing schemes comprising 3 to 5-marla plots. The funds will apply to these projects until 2025.

The report on low-income residential initiatives stated that the government took several measures to facilitate the low-income segment during the last two years. These included continuation of work in stalled projects, introduction of new apartment projects, promulgation of the FGEHA Act, government-to-government housing schemes, approval of the Real Estate Regulation Act, and promulgation of the NPHDA Ordinance.
The report mentioned the 1,350 housing units along Kuchlak Road in Quetta with regard to the initiatives introduced in Balochistan. For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the report indicated the PHA Residencia Sorazai Project in Peshawar comprising 10,000 housing units. For this purpose, the KP government provided 8,500-kanal land.

The Ministry of Housing report revealed that FGEHA had resumed the development work in stalled schemes, including Green Enclave-I Bhara Kahu and Green Enclave-II. It added that a project was inaugurated earlier in 2020 comprising of apartment units at Kashmir Avenue in Islamabad’s Sector G-13, Chaklala Heights Rawalpindi, Skyline in Islamabad, and Lahore’s Lifestyle Residency.
