Timergara: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued directions for hotels and restaurants in Lower Dir to register themselves – a news source reported.

The restaurants have been warned that in case they don’t comply with these directives, not only will they face heavy fines, but will also see their utility connections disconnected.
The provincial government issued these directions under the Hotels & Restaurants Act 2013 Section 5 Subsection (1), which calls for obtaining a license and registration within two months of starting a business.

In case of failure to comply, the restaurants will first be fined PKR 10,000, after which the fine would be doubled. If the situation persists till the end of 6 months, their utility connections will be cut off through the help of the police and the local administration.
Conversely, hotel and restaurant owners have expressed their reservations about the situation.
