Lahore: The Punjab government has granted its approval to shift all new universities, colleges and hospitals to solar power in order to conserve energy, a news source reported on April 16. The approval was sanctioned by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. As per the details, transferring these institutes to solar energy will conserve 45%.
During the same meeting, Buzdar also granted approval for several development schemes across the province. The meeting was attending by Industries Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht, P&D chairman and secretaries of finance, housing, local government and several other departments.

These development schemes include construction of DHQ hospital in Hafizabad at a cost of PKR 8 billion, upgradation of THQ hospitals in Khusab, Kharian, Minchinabad and Jaranwala at a cost of PKR 250 million, PKR 190 million, PKR 370 million and PKR 400 million respectively.
