Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) will present its budget for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-20 in the budget session on July 10, 2019, a news source reported. According to official sources, HMC is set to table a budget worth PKR 2.92 billion.

The sources have also revealed that the HMC budget would contain a surplus amount slightly more than PKR 600,000. Meanwhile, the HMC has allocated funds worth over PKR 0.63 billion for development projects in the city.
HMC has reserved PKR 1.82 billion for salaries, which makes two thirds of the total budget. The municipal authority expects the Sindh government to provide PKR 1.59 billion under the Octroi Zilla Tax. Meanwhile, the provincial government is expected to release a sum of PKR 360 million as a special grant.

Recently, the HMC had also been working on carrying out a crackdown against illegal occupation of state land situated in the city. On orders of the Anti-encroachment Tribunal, HMC demolished a number of illegally constructed structures along Autobhan Road.
