Islamabad: National Highway Authority (NHA) has launched an app containing data and information on all highways and motorways in the country, reported a news source. The application allows commuters travelling on any part of NHA’s 12,000-kilometre long highway network including motorways and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) routes to find out if the road is open and its weather conditions.
The app also allows people to lodge their complaints against the road conditions and any other problem they might face while travelling on the roads managed and controlled by the NHA. Furthermore, the app will also provide details on facilities available for the travellers along these roads as well as related details on Motorway Police. The app comes loaded with complete information of NHA’s ongoing and completed projects, as well as related data on toll plazas and taxes.
Speaking on the occasion of its launch, Federal Minister for Communication Murad Saeed that his ministry has completed 70-day tasks in 50 days, where the audit of NHA’s five mega project is being carried out and land and landing valuing PKR 1.28 billion has been retried from illegal occupation. Saeed also said that the ministry is looking to generate its own revenue and added that NHA has collected revenue worth PKR 761 million in 50 days.
