Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revnue (FBR) on April 2 revealed through its official Facebook page that it has received the highest inflow of remittances during the first nine months of the fiscal year (FY) 2020-21. The figures are 10% higher than the numbers recorded during FY 2019-20. As per the details shared via the FBR’s Facebook post, the original target for the current fiscal year had been PKR 3,287 billion; however, the board received remittances worth PKR 3,394 billion.

At the same time, the board has further surpassed its collection target set for March 2021, making it FY21’s highest monthly collection, worth PKR 475 billion. The original target set for the month had been PKR 439 billion. Back in March 2020, the revenue collection stood at PKR 326 billion. In comparison, the collections recorded during March were 46% higher.
The appreciation in tax collection was also noticed by Prime Minister Imran Khan, who used his Twitter account to commend FBR’s efforts. During July 2020 to March 2021, the FBR managed to collect PKR 3.39 trillion against the set target of PKR 3.29 trillion.
