Islamabad: The Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) of the local police department has found and raided the hideout of burglars allegedly involved in theft incidents reported in CDA sectors F-10, F-11, G-10 and G-11, a news source reported. As per officials, the robbers were hiding in a makeshift room in one of the drains situated near Jinnah Avenue in F-7.

Police had launched an investigation into the matter in September and recently discovered the hideout which contained several stolen items. The CIA team conducting the investigation found out that all homes which had been robbed were situated near drains. This helped the police track the robbers’ movement and catch them.

The police arrested two culprits and confiscated stolen items. Those arrested confessed to the crime and told the police that they travelled to Afghanistan to sell the stolen items with the help of local facilitators. They gave 10 to 15% of their loot to the facilitators for their help, which included gold ornaments. Meanwhile, the police are still on the trail of the remaining three members of the five-member gang.
